Construction and lay-out by sliding discs systems

Based on experiences of the ceramic valve production of several decades and valve developments in several generations it can be guaranteed that for the corresponding customer wish optimal constructive solutions will be found.

Optimization of the dimensions of the ceramic sliding discs

Fluidic optimization

Determination of the cavitation conditions

Specification of the ceramic geometries under consideration of the desired control device

Lay out design according to “TA Luft” as well as the “Wasserhaushaltsgesetz“

Lay out design for high temperature applications

Two disc systems are used for pure media as a matter of priority. Normally one disc will be flown around by the medium. For polluted media, suspensions or polyphase media three and more disc systems have to be used. These systems are characterized by the fact that none of the sliding discs of the outside is flown around by the fluid. Therefore no sedimentation or pollution of the sealing system can occur. The sliding discs can be moved linearly or rotated against each other. A combined linearly and rotary movement of the discs is also possible, depending on customer wish.

By optimizations economical ceramic discs can be obtained for the later manufacturing in series.

The Gate Valve is used when the need exist for a device that allows an interruption or cut off the flow of a fluid.

Is not recommendable to use Gate Valves for flow modulation as the high velocity of the through may result in erosive damage to the wedge and seats when the valve is partially opened. Under normal operating conditions, the valve should remain either fully open or fully closed. Installation of a Gate Valve is independent of the flow direction.

WALWORTH® Expanding Gate valves are manufactured and tested in accordance with API-6D.

This type of valve is suitable for onshore and offshore applications where suspended and abrasive solids are present in the fluid or for oil and gas transportation and isolation service.

The double block and bleed design offers a proper seal in between both seats and the gate in both high and low pressure, for this reason line pressure is not needed to seal the valve. The principle of operation is based in two segmented members of a disc which at open or closed position is capable to seal in both directions.
